so my buddy got an ls motor the other day and it had an automatic flywheel on it.... i searched but didnt come up with anything good.... so my question was is there a difference or i mean an advantage in getting an automatic motor to a manual tranny motor or are they just the same thing just manual and auto... well his car is gonna be a manual anways....

Some throttle bodies had differences to accomodate Automatic options, i.e. more dashpots etc. The cams may also be weaker, but I have only seen that documented in the B16s.

its much harder to beat the **** out of a automatic than it is a manuel. I think that auto motors from Japan have been less likely to get the **** beat out of them.
