clutch upgrade for future turbo...help
i need a clutch... so i am doing research and found a xtd clutch with flywheel for cheap. but i am getting mixed reviews on all the threads. so like i read time and time before you get what you pay for, this why i am goin exedy. now my question is stage one or two. i have a stock ls but am building a turbo kit wanting around 250 hp or so. i am also getting a lighter flywheel, think maybe 8lb. which would be more streetable 1 or 2.
and yes i have searched because search is my friend
h-t please help

I did a recent post on exedy vs. ACT and nobody recommended exedy. apparently not even the stage 2 hold well. Fidanza makes a great lightened flywheels and I would go ACT for the pressure plate/ disk
How about a Tilton Clutch?
It will definately hold the power and Tilton does offer an Organic Disc if your worried about chatter.
I have one for sale if your interested:

Its comes with a Cerametallic disc (organic disc could be ordered for $100) although the metal disc is very easy to get use to for street driving.

Huh? I actually read a post here that Exedy twin-disc has been great! That is what I would recommend. I have a couple of friends using it. No problems with theirs. That is my next clutch upgrade for sure.....

I think the Exedy stage2 clutch is not a twin-disc IIRC. For a D-series stage2 is a 3 puck single disc but I'm not sure for a ls.

Yup, Exedy stage 2 clutch is a single disk 3-puck metal (which I dont think will hold up to long with turbo power because of the Pressure Plate)
Twin Disk Exedy is Stage 4- Which will hold the power of big turbo
IMO, with a small turbo/supercharger/NOS you cant go wrong with a Single Plate Clutch (Exedy Stage 3, Tilton Single, etc...) I have so many friends with turbo and NOS that have many problems with the Stock Style strapped Pressure Plate; but once they went to a Lug type Pressure Plate, no more problems.
