Default MAP sensor not on Firewall and not on engine bay harness, HELP!!

ok i just swapped my JDM B16 into me new-to-me 92 si hatch.

the wiring harness thats on the motor is from my old civic (93 CX) which had the MAP sensor on the firewall. i have the MAP sensor that mounts to the firewall from the B16 and its still attached. thats all good.

mounted the MAP sensor to the firewall and went to plug it in and there was no plug. i then realized that the Si had the MAP sensor on the IM and not on the firewall. LUCKLY, i have the original plug that plugs into the MAP sensor from the 93 CX that i cut off

my question is where do i extend the wires for the MAP sensor plug to?
i was thinking i can just run the 3 wires to the ECU but there should be wires already in place on the plugs going to the ECU because its an Si cabin harness (the harness that goes to the ECU)

does anybody know the pinouts for the MAP sensor are for the p30 ECU? or where i can splice into the wires that are already in the cabin harness?

wire colors and pictures would be great and ill be finishing this tomorrow and be bumping this for a while tonight. TIA

bump sorry for the story, here short form:

1) jdm B16(MAP came with, firewall mount style) with CX engine harness
2) swapping into 92 Si shell with MAP on TB
3) CX had MAP on firewall as did B16 and 92 Si doesnt
4) need pins to wire in MAP to the ECU and colors of wires to match
5) where can i wire the MAP into the wiring harness on the car as the car had it wiried directly into the main harness?

bump?

that wouldnt help me cause i would still need to run the wires from the MAP sensor plug i have because the engine harness has no plug for it. i snagged the MAP plug from my car i smashed.

i need to know where to run the wires for the MAP sensor to the ECU (the pinouts) and if anybody knows the color of the wires that come out of the plug for a 93CX (with the firewall mounted MAP) to match the pinouts too that would be GREAT!

just a thought

if you look at the plug. be sure that the press pin is on the top.

from left to right
123

#1 to slot D19 on the ECU
#2 to Slot D21 on the ECU
#3 to slot D17 on the ECU.

no actually thast exactually what i was looking for, but i was also wondering where the wires were located in the main harness on the car so i could maybe pin them into the main harness, but that will do fine, just wont look as clean

thanks JDMlyfestyle, u hit the nail on the head

wow thats 2 of my questions down, 1 to go

do you still have your old harness? if so then cut off the TPS plug and run the wires straight to the ECU.. no worries about shielding these wires they are not that sensitive.

i just went to take a look at my engine bay. the map sensor wire is not connected to the wiring harness, it comes out behind the battery. I'm using my DX wiring harness. Unless the previous owner hard wired it. but thats very doubtful cause theres no extra plugs on the wiring harness. My map sensor is firewall mounted also, well thats when i had the b16. now its connected to the tb, but same wire thats coming out from behind the battery. hope that helps.

Firrst: your TPS sensor and MAP have the same plug so make sure you are using the correct one.

Second if you are using the SI harness, it has a plug for MAP, just find it, it is there. no honda doesn't have one.

If you cant find it, go and get a harness for an obd1 EX coupe. that will save you the hassle, its plug and play.

dont use the CX harness, it has a three wire IACV, so that wont work.

ok i got it all sorted out but thanks for the extra replies tho.

im using the CX harness for my b16 and it works fine, i had it in my old 93 CX and it worked fine, no codes or anything like that. i DONT have the EX(Si) harness as i bought the shell with no motor or harness or ecu.

when we stripped the CX i made sure to cut the MAP plug with about 2 feet of wire on it just incase of this happening so i have the plug and just need to run the wires into the ECU.

the OTHER question i had about this was if the Si/EX harness had the plug on the engine harness for the MAP, where do the wires from the Engine harness part of the MAP meet the Main harness? i was thinking of running the wires along with my CX harness and then pinning them into the shock tower (or whereever they meet) to make it look cleaner than running it straight to the ECU.

anyways, if i cant find out by friday, im pinning it to the ECU to get this biatch running

thanks again guys

PS - AnDThEnWuT, u had the same MAP wires on there as my CX had, but the EX/Si models have the MAP plug right on the engine harness, so i dont have that plug comming from behind the battery, but i cut it off my car so i have the plug at least, just gotta pin the wires. and y not take that other MAP sensor out of there and sell it man, ony need 1 lol

So your telling me a firewall mounted map and a TB mounted map have differant plugs? Make sure the wires come from the same place on each car and just cut the plug off and use the right one.

they will use the same plugs, they are just mounted in different locations. please stop confusing this thread with more post trying to help, JDMlyfestyles knows what im saying and maybe he knows the spot where the MAP joins the main harness in the 92-95 EX/Si so i can clean the wiring up

If the MAP and TPS are both on the harness they will be very close together

no im talking about the main harness for the car. where does the MAP wires on the engine harness from an EX/Si meet up to the main harness for the EX/Si?

its all good tho, ill just pin it into the ECU if u dont understand what im saying

sorry to bring this back, but JDMlyfestyle, when u said looking at the plug with teh push pin on the top, do u mean with the wires pointing towards u or away from u?

we hooked it up but it ran like ****, but we just want to make sure about that first before we drain out the gas to put new in

thanks
