Default My school mini fender project + PICS

Hey guys ... im 15 years old , You prbbly don't rememebr me but i posted my first welds b4 now we did mini fender project in school... Here it is:

1: Fabrication ( Welding, cutting all the pieces out, putting together everything, grinding)
2: Straightening - teacher hammered it real bad and made holes in it ... had to do fix up the holes and do some shrinking of the metal with oxy-acetylene welder after straightened everything with hammer and dolly
3: Put plastic filler on and work it down till its really smooth (36,80,120,400 grit sanding papers)
4: Primer/wet sanding
5: Base color( about 5-7 coats )
6: gold stripes ( 3 coats)
7: clear coat (4 coats)

My inspiration car in the background

Please feel free to comment or ask q's thx for looking

I'm with the others, wish I had classes like this available.

My only comment would be to keep track of when you mask and the lines it can leave. It looks like you got some overlapping on the masking of the stripes at the edges. (this isn't coming from car paint work experience... only from a normal art background)

it looks Pretty good.
On part of the stripes it looks like you should have pulled the Tape sooner, so it didnt "tear" the base paint.
other than that

we do bascially everything u mentioned but when we paint we only do one coat.. Right now we're repairing the front end of a buick and i just basically had to take off the radiator and the front core support by drilling in the welds and using an air chisle to pry it apart..
He's also teaching us how to use the frame puller but i kinda stay away from that cuz it looks like an accident waiting to happen while using it.. hah
As far as welding.. im not to great at it but im learning/practicing. After winter break im going to bring my car to class so i can weld my exhaust piping due to it falling off from fucced up welds by a muffler shop..

My class is kinda kick back.. A lot of people usually just mess around the whole time and smoke on the side of the shop because my teacher is very lenient and my school security & police dont give a.... . He doesnt even give us tests or any kind of grading. At the end of the semester we right down what grade we deserve and he gives it to us hah. But its very informative class and ive learned some useful things. But i think my class/school would be better if it had way more dicipline.. everyday there are literally fights during the day.. and after school there are always people smoking in the parking lot.. and not just cigarettes hah..
