This may sound a bit crazy but...

Is it possible to fit the 2.0 L TD engine into an early Honda Civic. I see people putting Honda engines into rovers, but not opposite.

Through the knowledge I have gathered myself, I can find that the same engines were fitted into the 97-00 civics and 95-99 rovers, ie 20T2N and 20T2R.

But the question is will the diesel engine fit into the 92-97 civics.

Wierd one is know, but am wondering on the engine mountings.

Diesels can run on used cooking oil, which will cost you less than a dollar a gallon and some can get as much as 50+ mpg. So that would save you a TON of money.

This guy is obviously in Europe... Things are different over there

It's probably do-able, I mean with enough fab and welding, etc... anything is possible. A guy I know has a turbo'd LS/Vtec in a Hyundai Accent, so yeah anything.

 

Reason being that fuel over here is a fortune and im doing more than 20,000 miles a year. The diesel engine can produce 105 bhp standard and 140 bhp tuned. With LOADS of torque. Whilst still giving 50 mpg.

The reason I asked was because the engine had been fitted to both makes of vehicle, I didn't want to have a lot of fabrication. Just a drop in job.

Doesnt Honda now offer Diesal engines in some models over in Europe? Perhaps it would be easier to take one of those engines and try to swap in into your car. Not sure how easy the swap would be as I do not know what years Honda started with diesal engines.

Just a thought.
