I have the pdf of the service manual but I can't find the page for the oil pan removal.

I know the torque on the d16 is 9lb/ft so I guess that will do. Looks like I need to remove the torque converter cover too (It is an auto). When putting the pan back is it okay to add silicone sealant to the gasket? Is this the correct way to tighten the pan back?:

do not add any gasket maker to the new gasket AT ALL.

rubber gaskets do not need it.

 

Any chance on reusing the old gasket?

 

Okay, I seem to have all of the nuts and bolts off but the pan won't come down. Am I missing something? Or should I pry it off?

 

Yes, pry it off..shouldn't take much force.

YES, you do use hondabond or RTV in the corners of the pan. See manual for details.

Tighten starting at the center then go to the opposite side and tighten, go back to the opposite side, next bolt and tighten.

I was just looking at this last night in my Haynes manual...go get one now, any auto parts store for 15$

 

Got it off thanks. I definitely need a new gasket.

I think I should take the oil pick up off and clean it. What are the torque specs for the nuts? 8 lb ft I think. Is it absolutely necessary to replace the oil pickup gasket?
