Default New to S2Ks .. opinions needed

Well.. The story with me is that im considering making a change to the import scene and i think an s2k has just captivated my interest. Im a Ford guy i will always have love for mustangs, but today I was talking to my close friend (he owns a 300zx) and I generally described to him what i was looking for and he lead me onto an s2k, telling me that its worth every penny and its a true blast to drive.
I was just looking for some positive feedback.. and ask the number one noob question what first mods would you guys recommend to get the bang for the buck, considering I will have about 2500 to spend.

I can say that most domestic guys are slow to warm up to the S2000 after driving it, because it simply lacks torque. He is right, the car is a blast to drive, and is a fantastic sports car...but most domestic fans view the S2000 as quirky and a bit demanding to drive.

First "mod" I suggest is taking the S to the track. (not a drag strip, but a race track/road course) and get some good tires. S2k's more for handling rather than speed. Your basic bolt-on's hardly do anything, as far as HP. They're not like big V8's, where you might gain 15hp with a lid. Rather than power mods, suspension mods is where you should put your money towards (although the stock is already pretty good).

If that's not what you're looking for, I suggest sticking to mustangs, because you will definately be disappointed.
