Heard of cross member support upgrade by Benen? look inside==>
Any one know what this replaces or does? kinda looks like it would replace a lower rear strut brace or whatever they are..

It looks tough as hell though!! Also does BSQ still sell that type R swaybar and reinforcment kit. I went to his website and all it had was prices for the support kit. Do I just have to contact him?
The Benen website is down so I couldn't look it up myself

Inside my hatch, at the very rear-most part, there are a couple very LARGE bolts. I think that piece goes across those bolts (across the rear-most part of the spare tire well). I'm not sure, though. I believe the ITR has a brace in this location already.

The picture above is the cross member support.
The bar that Patrick is talking about is the strong bar and it bolts into different holes than the bar that comes with the ITR's. The strong bar bolts into the floor of the trunk, but the ITR bar bolts into the rear wall of the trunk (the same wall the tail lights bolt into)
I've only know of one member who has used the strong bar, and he said it made a noticble difference and also got rid of the creaking from the rear of his car. Normally one member's experience with a product isn't enough to sell me on it, but I have this thing about getting my car as stiff as possible, so I'm going to try it.
i thought this bar is mainly for safety. it makes it so you can remove your bumper supports, which weigh a hell of a lot more than the strong bars, and still be somewhat safe if you were hit in the rear. hence the name strong bar.

Did you try viagra in the gas tank?
Not being an *** I just couldn't resist. On a side note, does anyone know if the benen rear lower bar can be used with the beaks SRK? Those benen bars look sweet.

GS-R's and ITR's already have this bar.
You can kinda see it in this pic. It's the bar that sits right in front of the steering rack.

How difficult is this bar to install with the engine in the car? Does it do the same thing as the Spoon frint tie bar?
thanks!
There's a group buy on the bars til the end of march. Pretty damn good prices too.
