which gear ratio should i go 4.7 or 4.9
i have a 98 jdm itr in a crx with a b16 tranny. i was wondering if 4.9 would be to short? has any one ran a 4.9? all my plans for this motor is go higher on the compresion and bigger cams. i have bc3 right now.

I find it great for around town as 5th can be used everywhere but for any highway driving it means you are revving in the 4000rpm range at around 65mph.....
the 4.9 would be even higher...
unless the car is going to be a dedicated track racer on tight tracks I wouldn't bother...the 4.9 would cut your top speed down to 125mph or less I would imagine.

i have the best motoring dvd, they show a race between ITRs with each Final drive.
its a dead tie. i was reading a post here about a guy who has had both, a drag racer.
the 4.9 was putting him into 5th and slowing him down. i have a 97 CTR with the 4.7, i'm in the very top of 4th throught the lights on 20x8x14s
