Default SH cams vs. base cams?

I have a 2000 prelude base and someone told me that the SH cams are better than the cams that we have now. He also said that the SH cams are alittle better if not the same as the JDM H22A cams based on lift on the intake and exhaust cam. Is any of this true?

H22A1, JDM H22, H22 Base, and H22 SH cams are all the same. Only ones with different cams are the Type R and Type S H22

I'm pretty sure SH cams are a little bigger, check the helms...

Actually, I'm like 99% sure they are..

The SH cams are only slightly different from the base cams. For those that doubt me check page 6-34 of the Helm manual for proof.
As for how close they are to JDM cams I have no idea.

The SH vtec cam lobe is higher than the Base, but i don't think that changes the lift and duration between the 2 cams.

They didn't. They made an EDM Accord Type R with an H22 in it. That's where all the "Euro R" manifold comes from

this has been argued before. it is the same part number but if you measure the cams there is a difference. and i think there is an SiR BB6. only right hand drive. like a JDM type S with interior and body upgrades and poss 4WS. not a type R, but hey. could be wrong.

if there is a difference its certainly not worth it to swap in SH cams. the helms can be wrong every once in awhile.

Actually I just checked http://www.slhondaparts.com and you're right, they DO indeed list the same part numbers for both the Base and SH camshafts.

So I guess someone screwed something up somewhere along the line.

i beleive the difference is so negligible that there is no point. i've never seen proof one way or the other, but this is a running debate. if you are going to invest time and money in cams then get the Type S.
