Default B18c1 block w/ b16 head

Whats goin on all...just to mention i already did a search...but had not luck...I'm pretty sure its been done before or maybe not...but i was wondering if i would benefit in investing in a b18c1 block to put in my 99 civic si...right now i have a b16a2 w/ ctr pistons...itr mani, head, valve springs & rets, cams, jdm header. I like how the car runs...better than stock of course...I didnt get to really get to do any research when i did the upgrades because the motor was burning oil so i just did a rebuild with those parts....My question is...Would it benefit if i just bought a gsr block and used my stock b16 head? is it possible? If so...I would like to know more about this...Any help would be gladly appreciated...thanks in advance...mark

so you arent gonna use the head already on your B16 or how come you are asking if you would benifit from putting a stock head on when your looks like its been upgraded a little ???? yea i think you would benifit from it by gaining some torque becasue on the increase in displacement...many people refer to that combo as poor mans type r try searching for that

You lose some compression, and some power with that head if stock

sorry...the head does have type r cams and valve springs...i thought when people do the poor man type r was just buying a b18c5 block and puttin on that head...but i guess i was wrong...Since i already have the ctr pistons should i try to use those in the block too? or would that yield a really high compression...I would like to keep the car streetable also...

you will be somewhere around 12:1 compression. why dont u do a ls vtec. you can get a block for like 150 and put in some b16 pistons
