coolant temp. sensor = will cause a no start?

Default coolant temp. sensor = will cause a no start?

if coolant sensor is not plugged in and computer is throwing the code, will the car not start?

i don't know if its normal but when i replaced my clutch i unpluged the coolant temp sensor from the head by accadent and when every thing was bolted back up i didn't have the snsor hooked up and the car wouldn't start when i plugged it in the next day (thats how long took me to find it lol) car started up fine

thats correct when the coolant temp sensor is unplugged or malfuntioning the car will not start because the motor will run extremely rich.
