84 Accord leaks when it rains
So a big storm just past through here and this morning i go out to my car and my floor behind the passenger seat is SOAKING wet! I cant really find where the hell the leak came from, anyone have any idea??? Also the trunk is pretty wet, but i used to have thatr problem in my 91 taurus sho, i think someone said it was the weater stripping. I dont really wanna send any money and i already got this gasket sealer, would that work or should i replace the stripping? Thanks in advance...
One thing that constantly comes up on Honda's (regardless of body style) is the Tail Lamp to Body Gaskets as a source for trunk leaks. They dry out over time and start leaking.
Of course, the correct way to address it would be to replace them, but if you're on a budget (and don't care what kind of He..l you may put anyone else thru) you can seal them to the body using RTV (understanding you may never again get them off
)

If you want to do the "AHaaa, that's it" proceedure; you'll need a warm place to work, a garden hose, a flash light ("torch" to our Brit Friends) and a duly volunteered "Trunk Monkey" to crawl in and watch for water leaks which you stay outside and play with your (Oops ('the)) hose.

Right on man thanks for the help. I just checked the tail light gaskets and they look pretty tore up. I guess ill replace the gaskets, im thinking from rock auto?
Anywhere that floats your boat (Figuratively, considering your trunk leak
)
They sell the mounting gaskets by themselves?
If not, try Honda, they may still be available (special order) and would save you the cost of the whole lamp.
If your original lamps are pretty *&^*% up, this might be a chance to spruce up the *** end a bit.
