JDM B16a motor...USDM B16a2 intake manifold/throttle body 89CRX (question)
anyone here done this and have any pictures of it. Im posting this for a friend who has a 89 CRX that is potentialy having a problem with his he has a JDM b16a and has a USDM b16a2 intake manifold and throttle body from a 99 civic Si. Another friend has a 91 hatch with a jdm b16 and the jdm intake manifold etc is quite different then the b16a2 usdm manifold and we arent 100% sure that the vaccuum hoses and things are going to the right places. I dont know why he hasnt posted this yet but ive been thinking about it and its been bothering me so i figure I'd get the ball rolling with this post. TIA

thanks for posting for me!
I havent posted becuase i was doing some of my break in
Well eveything is running fine...
I have 2 problems....
1. What Antirice says....
We dont know if the vacuum routing is correct. Im sure its not becuase the idle is at 1000 and also at idle it fluctuates very slowly from 600-1000..
Wierd thing is it doesnt do it constantly.... occasionally
2. my clutch feeling sucks donkey *****! I adjusted it so many times and i dont know.. Maybe im doing it completely wrong.
Its tightened so much. The reason why its tightened is becuase if its not it doesnt go into gears and just grinds . When i adjust it to the point where it doesnt grind it gets stiffer in the pedal, and gives me only about an inch of release from the floor before the clutch engages. If your wondering what clutch i have, i have the ACT Heavy duty pressure plate w/street disc
The cable im using is the orginal 89 CRX Si cable which was cut to fit. Seems to work fine though. Works fine on Gymkanas (sp)
I was suggested as well to just buy another clutch cable becuase the one i have could be ungeased and stretched. (couldnt hurt to change to a new one, except about 79 bones)
Ill try and post some pics of the vacuum routing we did.
Any suggestions would be great!
Thanks in advance

damn, min idles at 1250 and tries to cutoff on the "downruns" when it fluctuates down until the car is warmed up and themn it is fine. i think fast idle control might not be hooked up right...

here are the pics:
The silver hose goes to the top of the manifold, it sees pressure: (this is the one that im having a hard time figuring out, because on the jdm manifold, the char. canister does not see manifold pressure, but on the b16a2, 99-00 si char. cani it does)

The "t" is going to a boost gauge in the cabin

Were not using the firewall mtd. map anymore, using a obdII map on the throttle body, seems to be working so far, no CELs for map yet)

Todd your silver purge hose should not be hooked directly to vacume or you will have a vacume leak from that. On the pre obd11 throttle body there is a purge fitting that this hose is conected to. These vacume ports are drilled in front of the throttle plate so they are only exposed to vacume when the throttle plate is opened and not at idle. I stole the vacume fitting from my old throttle body and drilled out the obd11 one exactly the same. Looks factory!
try this, leave everything as is and plug in the stock map sensor, cuz for some reason when i used the obd2 map i was idling high like 1300 and then i switched and everything was fine!! So give that a try!!
in order for me to use the stock Map sensor i have to change the TB back to the OBD0 TB...
Which wouldnt be a big deal.. I guess its worth a try.
Yes it seems to be leaking a bit from that silver hose... acutally seems like its from the purge unit.
Other than that, i have drivin 270 miles tonight and my breakin period for the engine is soon to be done!
Here i come turbo!!!
