Need some opinions for engine swap ideas.
I need some input on a few ideas I've had for building a new motor for my '89 accord LX sedan.
Idea 1- B18B w/B18C head (LS/VTEC) possibly turboed
Idea 2- H22A (not quite sure how to make it fit. maybe with some custom mounts?)
Idea 3- (I'm kinda doubting this one but I'll post it anyway) 1st gen ZC w/ B16 dohc vtec head) turboed and intercooled
Idea 4- Using the current A20A1 block (possibly bored out) with a 16- valve head (prefferably a Vtec head) and converted to multi point PGM-FI (any ideas for what sort of head to use would be great)
Input on these ideas as well as new ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Good luck finding mounts, the 1 person that made them went out of business or stopped making them...then again this was 3-4 months ago and someone might have picked up the ball. I would personally say go with a b series as there have been issues with the h fitting.
A GREAT site with tons of info on swaps, boosting, and 3rd generation accords in general is http://www.3geez.com .

Any route you take, which doesn't include loosing displacement, would be the one I'd suggest. The B18 would be a way to go, but the Accord's are a little too "Fat" in the ***. The H22 is a consideration, but you'd have to engineer a solution for clearance (Height if I remember correctly) - it would be an outrageous package if you could pull it off

Yea but the 3rd gen accords weigh about as much as the integra/civic which the b series would be coming from making it, IMHO, a perfect swap

Thanks for everyone's ideas so far. No one said anything about idea 3 which leads me to belive what I was starting to think about it anyway; it's a completely stupid idea. I am however interested in some opinions on idea 4. I know it sounds unorthodox, but i think I may have something there as well. Be as honest as possible on this, even if it means calling me the biggest retard in engine building history.
The one thing about option 4 (besides being a place "Where No Man Has gone Before" (sorry Gene)) that concerns me is that there isn't a dirth of speed parts for that application. Most everything would be a one-off, custom build (I feel an "American Sport Compact" show coming on the Discovery Channel), "I can't believe I started this" project.
Although I consider the B18 idea a step in the wrong direction (displacement-wise), I have to admit it's more attractive as far as available pieces and different avenues of approach.
Heck, an A20 buildup how-to would make for real interesting reading.
If you decide to go that route, good luck. It's going to require a lot of research.

As a supplement to asking the Well Qualified, Pleasant, Always Helpful contributors (and Forum Denizens) of Honda Tech, you might want to poke you head in over at 3gees.com.
Those Guys just LOVE Honda's with Flippy Headlights, Chronic Rust around the rear quarter panels and daily replacement of suspension components.
But, hey, I'm not so modest as to not suggest you at least look .......

Hey... I happen to like the flippy headlights, they give the car a unique sort of character. Furthermore all the rust on my car happens to be on the back of the trunk thank you very much!
Anyway... based on the input I was given I've decided on going the LS/VTEC route, but I'm still considering the H22A (I'll just need to get a custom hood to resolve the height clearance issue). Although I like the Idea of taking the road less traveled by building on the A20 block, it seems like an idea for an expert with lots of money to spend, and I am neither of the above. So thanks for the input. Now, I have some direction for this project.
