scratching noise when driving
There is a scratching noise of some sort when I'm driving my civic. It sounds like its coming from the front passenger side. I'm thinking it there is a problem with either the axle.
Can anybody give me an opinion of what the problem is and how to possibly fix it without going to a mechanic???

seems like a "scratching noise" could be any number of things. a little more detail or what happened that started it would help
I think I found the problem. There is a metal plate right behind the brake rotor. The plate is aligned against the rotor with a margin of about 2mm. Somehow the bottom part of the plate looks distorted and may possibly scratching against the rotor. Let me check this out and see if it works.
Yeah had this problem too, all you gotta do is bend it out of the way of the rotor. BTW don't try to bend it right after you drove it, that **** will be hot! I learned the hard way
