Default what's the difference between a JDM d15b and d16y8 head???...more q's inside

Ok, a guy i know had a JDM d15b head that walls milled 20 thousanths on an A6 bottom end. when he went into vtec the valves hit the pistons. I have an A6 bottom end also, but i have a d16y8 head milled 15 thousanths with a zex 59300...with the differences in the heads (idk what they are), will i have the same problem as the guy with the d15b head? or should i be ok...the head is already on the car and im trying to avoid claying it because that's a PITA...ANY advice would be great. thanks!

the d15b head is the same casting as a z6 head. which has been done time and time again on an a6 block. i have never hear of the valves hitting the pistons like that. he prolly had it out of time real bad. the only thing i could think of
