Reverse light switch. Have some one put the car in reverse and check for power at the lights.

i had same prob... one of the connectors by the spare tire area under the hatch had come lose.. all i did was cut the wire on both sides of the connector and attached them together... and now they work.. if i had a pic of where it is i would post it... just follow the wires from the hatch to the back panel just above the spare tire area... check there.. all i did with mine was use a test light.. then i wiggled the wires and they worked.. so i had to connect them

there is a sensor on your tranny for whn you backup. Make sure it isnt unplugged, its what kicks the lights on.

You said your car has a motor swap right?

Was your car an automatic before the swap? If so, there is a good chance the reverse light is not connected at all.

If you car was an automatic, then there would be a plug just chillin under the radio area...

You'll have to find out which pins on that plug are for the reverse lights, and run two wires to your reverse plug on your tranny.

Luserkid included how to do this in his 'auto to manual' write-up

Yeah...you need to figure that out.

All you need to do is look under your radio (which might mean removing your lower console pieces), and look for this plug:

It's the big plug in the center. It plugs into the automatic shift unit, so that the computer will know when the car is in P, R, D, etc...

It would be most logical to check the 7.5 amp fuse under the hood. With all these posts I can't believe only one other person said that.
