question on turbo h22!! techs please help. !!!!!!!!!!!!!
i understand the way turbo systems work very well, and installed my own kit, but i thaught of something that i want to do, but im not sure if it would work
basicly i changed my motor and took out my t3/t4 and wanted to do a new setup!!
i now have a jdm 10.6:1 motor closed deck, and i have the intercooler piping and ext, with manegment too. i wanted to put a small fast spooling turbo in my car. i have one that i intended on putting in a civic for fun, but i thaught of a way to put it on an h22
i only wanna boost like 5-6 psi and ill wright the setup
its a 13g turbo with internal waist. at 9.5psi
i wanted to bypass the internal waist gate, and put an external that will dump into the exhaust (and not open air like the one i had on my t3t4 kit at 18psi)
problem is that my torbo inlet hotside is like 1 3/4 inch and i dont know if that would give too much restriction, but i figeured if i put a 40mm waist, when it opens it will have more than enough flow to runn well, so basicly 40.. plus 1 3/4 is my flow from the manifold,
it would spool really fast and i would gain a lot of tq. and prob. a bit of hp too.
so if i make the extra exhaust come out before it enters the turbo i add flow to the motor as well. i know this would be nowhere near good enough to put with an internal waist gate, so i thaugh it would be ok with a external,
would this work and should i even atempt it, or will i just blow everythin up?
i could always get a full t3, but i wanted to try this!!
and i know its not gonna be the fastest kit and the coolest, but it will spool faster than i can rev, and should be cool!!
thanks for the help in advance.
