Default 2 layer OEM head gasket

What do I need to do to remove the middle layer and have it still work okay? And is it worth the trouble?

drill out copper rivets, remove middle layer, wash top and bottom layer with simple green and rinse well, dry reassemble head to block using just top and bottom layer. Its really not to complicated.

The copper rivets come out real easy without drilling, just push them into the middle and they fall right out.. That what I do....raises compression about 2 tenths of a point.
