It's an EG hatch.

The best size tire for 14" wheels is 185/60-14 (same size that came stock on the Si version of the EG hatch).

If you're not going to be driving in snow or frigid cold, I recommend the Yokohama ES100 ($67/tire at the Tire Rack), which is one of the few decent performance summer tires available in that size. Otherwise, you'll need an all-season tire, and there are quite a few all-season choices available (although none of them will be as good in warmer weather as the ES100).

185/60 is doable for a 6" wide rim but is a bit narrow, since it is the stock size for a 5" wide rim. I would suggest either a 195/55 (my first choice) or a 195/50 or 195/60. Just my .02

what size tire do you think this is?

i cant find 195 tires in 55 and 50 series for street tires. i only found road racing slicks in that size, but im looking for something streetable. im afraid that 195/60/14 might be a bit too big. what are your thoughts on the size of the tires in the picture above?

thanks for all the help

Not true at all. For example, the Yokohama AVS ES100 tire I recommended above, in 185/60-14, is recommended for rims from 5.0 to 6.5 inches wide. It will work fine on a 14x6 rim.

Wow! What terrible advice! There are no decent performance street tires available in 195/55-14 or 195/50-14. Zero. Nada. Zilch.

And 195/60-14 is just too big. Any time you are looking at a tire whose width is 20 mm wider than stock and whose outer diameter is at least 2 percent larger than stock, you run a big risk of your tires rubbing on your fender wells.

If you're really intent on getting tires that are wider than 185 mm, then you will need wheels that are bigger than 14". It's only in those bigger wheel diameters (15" or 16") that they make tires whose outer diameter isn't significantly larger than your stock size, so you won't have to worry about rubbing.

It's impossible to tell from the photo. But just get the 185/60-14, and you won't have anything to worry about. It's the right match for your car (0.4 percent larger outer diameter than your stock 175/70-13), and you can get the Yokohama ES100 tire in that size.

Cliff's Notes Recommendation: Yokohama ES100 185/60-14

nsxtasy, thanks a lot bro, youre the man

actually i have an Si hatch, so 185/60/14 would be perfect then. i was just worried that 185 tires would come out too narrow on the rims, but thanks for the assurance.

happy holidays

I have 205/60/14 Falken Ziex's on my 91 Prelude wheels which are 6" wide or less. expletive, they're probably 5.5" actually. They work fine though.
