99 coupe factory alarm problems...searched no help.
Well I guess this is sort of a common problem. The factory alarm seems to go off for no reason. I do have a good amount of after market alarm install experience and unfortunately don't know much about factory alarms. Is there an adjustable shock sensor hidden somewhere? Are there any ways of disabling it? This might be a question for a tech, or if any of you guys had a similar experience. Thanks in advance.
Is this random as in goes off when nobody is around or while driving? That awnser will lead me a lot closer to the real problem.
But you can't adjust the system at all and there is no shock sensor. It activates by any door opening (or the trunk and hood if the switches are installed). And it also disables the ignition. Be sure you arent accidentally pressing the panic button (something hitting it in your pocket).

The factory installed alarm system put out by honda is about the only crappy product they've made (besides maybe the ridgeline, but that's neither here nor there) You'd probably be best off just yanking that **** out and installing an aftermarket alarm system.
Here's the installation instructions for a '99 LX (which didn't come with it, only EX's had it):

Note the diagram on page 3/12, specifically the "Sensitivity Adjustment ****". I believe that this is what you're looking for.
