got a b16a2 from hmotors and the map sensor isnt on the tb
motor in question is a b16a2 map is on tb
serial code starts with 12xxx....
it has an oil cooler before filter
oil bar above cam has duel raised edges along the center
iat sensor is on the runner on the im
rhd harness
i dont know if this matters but i didnt look if it had a knock sensor
motor is not obd2 no crank sensor
I removed the RHD harness last night all hardware that locks it in place including plastic zip ties that snap in to metal holders with 10 mm bolts ect were intact and never removed and the plastic clips some broke when I removed them. they were never removed in the first place im under the impression that its a virgin motor maybe a ukdm motor. I did a compression test and all #'S were very high :
225 220 230 217 dry
235 232 235 230 wet with light wd 40 spray
the head gasket is 3 layer and usdm b16 motors usually dont have compression that high ...disregard this if its irrelevant but its info i thought id give
also the oil filter was made by Vic which is a jap filter not to say you cant get them here but ive never seen them
so what's the verdict

Yeps sounds like its from a DA.
I recently put the same motor into a EG that already had an LS swap in.
Just so you know, you'll need to swap out the timing belt mount(the one bolted to the block) for the mount from '94-up b series, in order to put it into your EG or EK.

There are obd2 del sols. They were from 96-97 and the motor is the same code as the 99-00 SI.
The JDM B16 with a 91 head stamp is out of a 92 car which does not have a TB mounted map. Both of my B16's came this way and both were obd-1 hydro JDM B16's.

there is no such thing as a "JDM B16a2" the a2 is the 96-97 del sol vtec and the 99-00 civic si coupe. just like the b16a3 is from the 93-95 del sol.

JDM B16A's should only say "B16A", no A2 or A3 or A1.....
