HELP VACUUM LEAKS - Need clarification of this part.
I have either vacuum leaks or a bad part...my b16a2 idles erraticly and high, from 1200-1700 back and forth. What is this part, because it looks like its broke and is just sitting in my engine with only one line connecting to it.
Is this part affectly my idle, if not then what is.
I have searched and got no straight forward answers.

There should be a line going out the side, it looks like the nipple is broke off. Its the Evap Purge Control Solenoid, its bolted to the back corner of your intake manifold. The bottom hose goes to the back of your intake mani, and the side one goes to your charcoal canister. If those are disconected that may throw off your idle sir

The solenoid itself will not effect idle. You could disconnect it and it should do nothing at all. I've ran around for a long period of time with it not hooked up... now if you have a vac leak from not plugging off the port it connects to on the back of the manifold, then yes, that will effect idle. You can get one of those from any 92-95 Civic or 94+ Integra.

Its conected to the intake manifold but and to the canister but only one line is runing off the solenoid and a t split conects them two and the a 2nd t spliter conects the vacuum gauge to the vacuum system this is just one leak that i have. but will this affect the idle i have one other small leak i think and i doubt that that will cause the idle to jump so much and my vacuum gauge is reading at max 5 hg or w/e maybe 7 what should it be reading?
