Default LSVTEC- How to drop compression? Headgasket Q

B18b with CTR pistons and a pr3 head. compression somewhere 12.8:1 with oem headgasket
Would it be safe to double up on oem headgaskets and bring it down to 12.1:1?

I also saw the toda 1mm gasket which would get me around 12.5:1. even at this range soo much timing would be pulled that the combination would not work.

I am going to be running 91 pump gas.

NOTES:
Can I Use 2 OEM Headgaskets stacked in order to lower my compression.
91 octane 12.8:1 is too high.

you can run 91 with a good tune but you cant really smash on it daily. you would need higher octane

how did you figure the compression ratio? i used the one on cspeedracing.com and you should only have 11.5 to 1 ratio. just trying to double chech your numbers for ya. if you wanna see what different combinations wouldget you go to their site and you can try every different setup you want to see what ratio you come up with. hope this helps
peace

What you are looking for is the actual compression height of the CTR pistons, the compression calculator is correct but the info on the CTR piston is not. They did not factor in the higher compression height of the CTR piston. Once you have the compression height you will be able to calculate the correct compression ratio for CTR pistons in any head/block combo.

lsvtec with b16 head and ctr pistons
head Gasket 2.8cc big vol= 497.6cc
piston dome vol. 6.3cc small vol= 39.2cc stock lsvtec=12.7
camber vol. 44cc
deck height .25mm 1.3cc
cyl vol. 458.4cc
</TD></TR></TABLE>

Is it safe to run two stock oem headgaskets in order to lower compression?

If you want to drop a significant amount of compression you could always use a deck plate.....

i would buy some p30 pistons, it would be more reliable and you can run 91 easy, CTR pistons have too much dome and they are heavy too
