Default OIL everywhere after timing belt and valve seal change

my friend took his 97 Honda Prelude 5 spd to the Honda Dealership to have his timing belt changed. When they did this, they said his valve seals needed replacing too. So he had the valve seals, timing belt, water pump, and tensioner all changed. Well a month later he goes into the garage, and there is oil everywhere. Somehow and somewhere oil leaked from his motor and emptied everywhere on his floor. He has taken it back to Honda twice now, and each time it continues to do the same thing. He is picking it up tomorrow again. He has never had any oil problem before this.

What could be the problem?

Why dont you go look at the motor and narrow down the leak spot. Then we might be able to help you out.

well i have plenty of ideas, but like camrann said, we need more info to narrow it down. did they replace and of the seals on the block? the valve seals wouldn't be the problem since theres no way for the oil to escape onto the ground. it would have to be something fairly low to the ground for a lot of oil to empty out, like the drain plug, crank seal, balance shaft seal, or oil pan gasket.

uh, it's as simple as asking the techs at Honda. I believe they work on Hondas fairly regularly.

lol.. the "techs" at honda didnt have a clue. he has had to take it in there 3 times already. each time they gave it back, they said it was fixed, and a few days later.. oil.. same thing happened each time.

finally his dad took it in the other day and said if its not fixed this time, he's gonna..

never mind.. he just called and said he got the car back..

but Honda reason doesnt make sense.. they said it was a defective camshaft seal??? how the hell does all the oil leak out through the camshaft seal.. hmm either Honda isnt being straight up, or my friend is exaggerating on the amount of oil.. i dont know.. they are both stupid.. so its a tough call..

lol
