hey has anyone here wired up their "auxiliary" switch to turn on something else besides the stock fogs? on my del sol, i have the switch but no fog lights, so i want to use this switch for something else. do i have to just open up the dash and wire up whatever i need to the switch and ground? or will i still have to run a wire from the fuse box or battery to the switch. i kno the plugs for teh aux lights are already there in the front, i just have the bumper that doesnt have the fog lights cut rite now. thanks alot

 

The auxiliary switch is just a common switch. Once you pop the switch out of the dash you can try to figure the wiring of the switch. It'd be best if you had the delsol manual so it'll tell you which wire does what. You could always use a multimeter to test conductivity of each pin and figure out what conducts when your switch is depressed. In that case, you switch can be wired up to do anything.... (i.e. kill switch, fan switch, amp switch... whatever you want.

I guess that can get a little confusing. Well lets say if you leave the factory wiring in, you know that it will supply a certain voltage to the aux plugs up front. You can power anything you want with those.

If you wanted to use the switch as a standalone switch, then you would have to figure out wiring and connect your own power source or put it in between whatever circuit you want to switch.... HTH
