Do NOT turn up the boost just for blow off sound louder. It will NOT be louder. The BOV has to set properly on one setting for your boost level. If it's too loose, the boost will be leaking. If it's too tight, you will get flutter sound and damage to your turbo. Do it right!
Normally turn clockwise for tighten(harder), counterclockwise for loosen(softer).

by all means i'm not suggesting that he should increase boost just to blow off louder, but he's just wanting to blow off louder. well in my experience with a turbo'd eclipse, the more i boosted, the louder it blew off. i didn't simply increase boost just to blow off louder however. my motor was setup to handle more boost. i didn't just get boost happy.

with your car at idle turn the screw out, to loosten the valve. you should feel air coming from the valve, then start tightening the valve, you might have to rev the engine a bit to change the vaccum pressure to re-set the valve. turn it untill right after you feel the air stop comming out of the valve and tighten the jam nut. thats how i did my blitz DD BOV and it worked fine.
