Wierd headlight problem...
I have a 97 Honda Civic EX with a 97 Civic CX Harness in it. The last owner had a problem with the passenger headlight not working. I have checked the bulb, fuses, ect. I noticed that when the driver headlights not plugged in it works. Then when you plug the driver one in the passenger stops working. Any Ideas. I would really like to get this fixed!
This is my first post!
But anyway, I think that one of the terminals inside one of the headlight plugs may have been switched. Get the multi-meter out and test all the wires of the plugs against what the Helms manual says it is supposed to be.
Hope that helps. It is my first post after all.
Ok last time I say that.

Do you know how to check the headlights for power? The weird thing about this is that, both headlights have power and I know for sure they have grounds. I just cant figure out why it only sometimes works.
Ok, now its back to same old problem. The driver low beam works and both highbeams work. Both bulbs are good, fuses are good, ect. The ground is good for the passenger headlight as we got it to turn on for a second.
Come on someones gotta have some info on this...

you have a short in your headlight wiring you need to trace the problem from one side to the other you should have a break in the wiring some where between the two headlights!! hope that helps

probaly do this after you run down the wires to see if there is a break, sounds like it might have gotton cought in something and making a short somewhere good luck

why not just follow the wiring from the headlights, easiest way to trace the wiring

Does anyone have the printouts from a FSM for this? If I had a FSM I wouldnt have a problem here.</TD></TR></TABLE>
he means, put your hand on the headlight wire, and follow it until it goes into the fuse box. Try putting the tester inside of the plug and see if all 3 prong holes have current
