Default JDM header mods?

So are there any recommended modifications you should make to the JDM R header to make it "better" or flow better or anything you need to buy for better fit? it still fits the same on the exhaust side to hook up to the existing b-pipe? thanks again guys..

Basically port at the flanges (gotta weld on outside then I believe to keep flange secure). Some people remove the anti-reversion part in the collector.

Using a high temp coating can also help.

So what is this anti-reversion piece and whats its function in being there? what about the coating? how much does that cost and is it worth it even if you get the heat shield? thanx~
