Ok, about a year ago I got myself a del Sol and it came with 16inch OZ Polaris rims and the tires are 215/40

I've had my eye on 16inch Rota Gt3's (yes I know they're heavy) but what I haven't figured out is, how significant PCD is i.e. 4x100 ~ 4x114

What do those numbers mean?

2ndly what is the proper offset for a del Sol (30?) and how does it affect the car if the offset is changed by the wheel i.e. 35 or 40

lets keep this technical - I don't have the luxury of making a bad buy and yes I'm on a very very tight budget so any information is greatly appreciated.

 

PCD or your bolt pattern is very important to getting the right wheels. Your pattern being a del sol is 4x100. As for offset you would want to go for the +40.
Offset is one of the determing points of how a wheel will sit so to say on the vehicle. Whether it is going to stick out more or sit in: the more positive an offset gets means that it will "sit under the vehicle more" There is a good description of it at the top of the page in the FAQ.
