Default Only RSX-S in the "My Car Challenge" contest wins..

Well like the title says. I was choosen to run in the "My Car Challenge" aka Motor skills thrown by Honda Tuning, Super Street, Sports Compact Car, Euro Tuner, Turbo.

Everyone was grouped into different categories depending on magazine company. I was grouped with Honda Tuning. The idea of the contest was to drive your car on track, 30 minutes for a practice sessions then 30 mins to go ***** out and get your best time, a time attack.
After you got your turn, a professional would then jump in your car and try and beat your time. The pro driver for my car was Roger Foo, he is an amazing driver.

The contest was held at Cali Speedway in Fontana, Ca.
I got a best time of 1:28:08, Roger Foo got a best time in my car of 1:28:18..
So I won by 1/10 of a second...
I also won fastest honda tuning time, so I got the fastest time for honda tuning group.

I was the only one choosen from Arizona, the rest were cali residents.
Look for my car in up coming magazines in Honda Tuning, Super Street, Sports Compact Car, Euro Tuner, and Turbo regarding the My Car Challenge a.k.a. Motor Skills contest.
Just look for this car.

Wow!! Congrats. I'll be looking for you in the upcoming magazines, i could pretend to be cool and say I know you.

It must feel good to see all your hard work pay off.

Where does Roger Foo race? Is he a factory driver/ tester?

Few civic hatchs and not sure what else. I was not sure what was in my class. Things were a little confusing at first.
And yes, bender is the man. haha..
Hopefully I can enter this event again next year with a fully tuned suspension setup.

Roger Foo is a former Speed World Challenge touring car racer. He first got notoriety in 2000 or so when he was running an EG hatch with a type-R engine set up. he was doing it out of his pocket with not much sponsorship and did good at several races, even taking a win at Laguna Seca. That win was pretty significant as he was going up against heavy favorites like Real Time racing with their team of 4-5 ITR's. The next year he picked up sponsorship from Mazda and I kind of lost track of him.

Hayame Cat-Back Exhaust
AA Road Racing Oil Cooler

Suspension:
Toyo T1-S Tires
Tein Type Flex
Stop-Tech SS Lines
Enjo Motor Mounts
Spoon Lower Tie Bar
Eibach Rear Camber Kit
Mugen Upper Front Strut Bar

Exterior:
Vis Carbon Fiber Trunk
Jspec Carbon Fiber Hood
Jspec Type R Carbon Fiber Lip

This was the my car challenge, then they changed the name to motor skills. You will see more coverage on this event in the next few months. This was not the best motoring event.
This was the event thrown by premedia magazines ( honda tuning, super street, sports compact car, turbo, euro tuner..etc..)

Hey, thanks for the info Rich. I did notice his one win on the GT points chart.

I got one question concerning your brakes. What brakes are you using ( rotor, caliper, caliper housing) and did you tune the blas (braking balance) ?

Im just curious.

Thanks .

That's awesome!

It's great to see someone not just trying to make a billion horsepower and drag race. You are using the car the way it was designed to be used! Kudos!

The silver one or the yellow one?
The silver one was very competitive with the yellow one thou.
I was suprised I beat roger foo, barely by a hair.
I was also stunned when I got fastest honda tuning lap time for a non professional.

I've never liked 1/4 racing, I like to try and be competitive through out the braking and turns. Its my only chance against high hp cars
