Default can autometer water temp gauge be used as an oil temp gauge?

i have 2 water temp gauges (both mech.) i was wondering if there is any difference between water temp and oil temp gauges(besides 1 says water and the other says oil), because i was thinking of using 1 for my oil temp...does anyone know if that will work?

No, Ive thought of it, I dont see any reason why it would make any difference. They are pretty much the same gauge with the same sender....
