Greddy Turbo? and Unorthadox Racing crank pully
I got a 97 gsr, and wanted to know how good is the Greddy C.A.R.B legal turbo kit? Is it good for daily driving? Do i have to build the block? and what kind of numbers am i looking at stock?
Also i have an Unorthdox racing crank pully, I heard that they hurt the motor, is that true? I had it on my 90 ls and it was fine but im woundering weather or not to put it on my GSR.

i have a 97 gsr and ran the greddy turbo kit for about 5 months on the stock motor 120K miles on it. It ran great, daily driven. i ran a 13.7 with kumho tires and no exaust, so i would say it was prolly around 240 to the wheels. As far as the pulley, i just recently sold the greddy kit and rebuilt my motor to go bigger and i am now running the unorthadox crank pulley. You are prolly going to get a lot of responses telling you no to run it but i know plenty of ppl that runs those pulleys and the n1 all day long on low 12 second all motor cars. For the pulley its all about if you feel comforatable running it, yes there are horror stories but there are also people who have never had a problem and ran them for thousands of miles.
I just picked up another pulley from them, on sale.
I've run them on all my cars never had a problem before. On a altima 45k on it, LS around 30k and my old crx for like 12k
Never had any probs with them, only thing is that you can't run a supercharger with it, I was thinking about doing the jackson racing one for my ls, but it works with turbo's.
So im probably gonna do a turbo kit, not sure which one right now too broke lol

Yeah, I hear you on the smog laws. I am running the Greddy kit, but there is a good amount you can do if you desire more power besides upgrading the turbo. You can up the boost (assuming you get larger injectors and a proper tuning method), get a larger downpipe and exhaust made, get some more aggressive cams, etc.
There are people out there that don't desire 300+ whp daily driven and the Greddy kit is a well-built, easy to install, and quick spooling alternative.

Hell yeah, it is. I don't have numbers on mine (and I won't until I complete the 2.5" downpipe and 3" exhaust), but I am hoping for numbers around there just with my setup on stock internals and a very conservative tune. The Greddy kit has a lot more potential than most people think.

Thanks for the help bro, just needed to talk to some one who knew there ****. Im planing to go turbo after painting. Also i only have about 16k on my car so i should be ok without rebuilding. I also want to smoke some Camaro's and stangs.

I don't really see the point of a lighter underdrive pulley in the first place. There are so many better things I can think of to do with better results.

exactly
although they do help with mild set-ups
