Default diesel engine noise

does anyone hear a noise that kinda sounds like their engine uses diesel fuel?

i just got this gsr 98 with 38k miles i didnt notice it till now.... any ideas is this normal?

If it's a relatively light sounding takatakataka it might just be valvetrain noise. You probably need to get your valve lash adjusted.

However, if it's an uneven firing noise...could be a host of things (e.g., timing out of spec).

it only makes the takatakataka sound when it first starts up..then it kinda goes away...

It's either injectors or if it makes a tick tick tick tick sound then you need to get your valves adjusted.
