Vtech head

i might be buying a head over the net how can i tell it is a vtec head?
how can you tell what kinda condition it is i

you pretty much cant tell anything and have to take the word of the seller....ask him what engine it off of...if its off a z6 or a y8, then its a vtec head.... try paying through http://www.iescrow.com to protect yourself...

did he show pics of it? The oil cap on the sohc vtec engines is on the right rear of the head vs left front from the a6's. Also look at the cam for 3 lobes per cyl vs 2. You could look to see if there is a place to mount the vtec solenoid on the rear left side of the head. Just a thought.
