Default 2006 Civic Si....

I got the chance to drive the '06 Si today. Nighthawk Black base model(no Navigation)Civic Si.....Its pretty damn nice. I was very impressed with the Si. It takes more than claims to impress me when it comes to automoblies. A little bit about the Si:

K20Z3 2.0L-195 flywheel horsepower
6 spd. with Helical LSD
17 in wheels with Michelin's
Mandrel bent exhaust
4 into 1 header
Heck even aluminum lower ball jonts
8000 RPM redline
digital speedo
red gauges

Over all this car is by far (in my opinion) the best Si to date. I loved the 99-00 B16 Si but this one handles better, feels solid through out and feels to be faster. Or maybe I just hyped myself up and think that the car "feels" better. I guess there are test to be had to determin how well it is. The seats are awseome, comfortable yet supportive, black with red stiching. The guage cluster has some things to learn at first. I tend to look at the tach when I drive and the new Civics have a seperate tach and speedo clusters. But the good thing is the red shift light on the speedo cluster. It starts blinking at about 7600 rpm. Speaking or RPM, VTEC engages at about 6050 RPM. Its only intake VTEC but its very audible. Even with the car completly stock the engine is very loud in the upper RPM range. The exhaust note is nice and throaty. Audible as well. Silky smooth tranny. I dont like how far out to the right reverse is. But oh well, its only reverse. Nice close ratios. Shifting at 8k always falls to 6k, keeping the motor in the sweet spot. On to the motor. I think Type S owners wil definitly have some competion in the near future. I like the motor. It really has no weak spot in the powerband. I did notice that the Drive By Wire throttle system makes quick shifts harder. I was shift pretty quickly and I could feel the ECU cutting the power. There is not traction control and all other Honda sports cars with DBW throttle have the ECU power cut. I have also drive the 06 S2000 which now has the DBW throttle now. Did you know the sticker claims a 3 horsepower loss in the F22C. IMO it feels like 20 hp loss. I like the new Si. I boogies!

Cant wait for the after market to open up to it!!!!!
