Line Honing head? Who,Where
Does anyone know who does this? A guy I am building a motor for bought a ported head with no cam caps... I have never had something like this happen. So he got a set from something, and the two caps by the cams both had brass bushings in them. So I gave it a shot and put some stock B16 cams in there and torqued the caps down and it doesn't turn, so.... What should I do? He has got some money tied up in this thing? Thanks!

I work at a Machine shop, the problem is I we don't have a mandrel that size...
I actually found a set of cam caps I had off of a junk head that seem to work pretty well... Just need one cap on the timing belt side... Oh well guess I will start looking harder.
And damn Supernatural likes responding to my posts!

Hey Tony! After work today I started messing around with your head. I took a junk B16 head I had laying around,(from some guy who put the cam caps in backwards and it ate two of the cam caps) And tried all the cam caps except two of them and it spins easily. So a guy I know is bringing me another head thats junk, so hopefully I can get this head useable again! We will see!
There is a machine shop here locally in Auburn WA called Heads UP. I just had a customer bring me a head with cam caps that were not the original ones from the head. I brought them the head and the cams and they line bored it for us. It was pretty expensive (275) for both sides, but if you have alot invested in the head there is no other way.

Rocket gets down with cylinder heads!
: That scares me. But soo far , no failure *prayin it doesnt happen*
No need to be scared for you Sheepey.
What I meant was if it turns doesn't guarantee that there is 360 of clearance. Just one contact spot and the head could be come toast. I always check for full clearance.
Yes, line boring is expensive. Done properly you need to bore the two tunnels then bore four end tunnels for the seals etc.
