Default what is a breather on a b18c1

I know that this engine part replaces the line that runs to the intake from the valve cover compartment. I just need to know how to install one and what is the main purpose to have one installed on my b18c1.

Im not to sure, but with a turbo engine we always put breathers instead of that line. I think it might be a vaccum line or something? Thats my guess

All the breather does is let crankcase pressure out. In stock configuration & on smog leagal intakes its routed so the gases go back through & burn again...putting one of the little k&n filters on just lets the gas into atmosphere. As far as install...simple I think, small hose clamp?
