92 cx camber adjustment?
Hey
I needed to get my hatch aligned, and when I went to do so the guy said they can't because my car doesn't have adjustable camber... So i just assumed that i needed a camber kit to provide adjustment! Well I just want something cheap that works, any suggestions??
Also, do i def. need the camber kit? or is there a way to set toe to 0 and not have much tire wear (that is all i am really concerned about). my hatch is lowered but not tucking...
thanks
travis

ugh, i dont understand why shops are not aligning cars without camber kits!?
the ability to adjust your toe has NOTHING to do with adjusting the camber.
if they are telling you otherwise, find a place that will and set your toe straight and youll be fine.

Can we set a rule so that any thread started with "camber wear" or "camber adjustment" automatically goes into the trash can, and redirects to a FAQ about lowering, alignment and tire wear?

I agree with Tyson, get the toe set correctly and you'll be fine.
And I'm assuming that they don't want to deal with aligning a car to some of, but not all of, the factory specifications. I mean, you pay them to put the car correctly into factory specified alignment settings, and they can't. They should just make the customer sign a sheet saying "Yes, the car is modified such that original alignment is not possible and I understand the tech can only do so much."

As Mr. Tyson and others have said, no need for a camber kit. Find another shop to set your toe and if that shop doesn't want to do it, keep searching for one that will.
so I shouldn't even pay the $$ for a camber kit?? It is all with the toe?? I just tell them to set toe to 0 and have them do that and be on my way with a happy alignment of no tire wear???

Alignment.... get your toe set to zero (not "in spec", zero).

Your tires wont last significantly longer with a camber adjustment 'kit', compared to getting the alignment done and the toe set to zero.

fine, put in 5 degrees of negative camber and 0 toe, and ill set my camber at 0-1, and my toe at 0, and we'll see who gets more life out of a set of 200- treadwear tires. let alone the traction difference with the tires flat on the ground. (in a straight line anyway.)
