Default DX motor

this is my second DX motor i've had that has weird cooling characteristics. for one, it takes FOREVER for the damn needle to reach the normal operating temp area on the cluster. and two, sometimes the needle will actually go down while i'm driving. i'll be doing 70+ on the freeway for like 5 minutes, and it still won't reach normal temp, then i get off and on the offramp the needle actually drops cooler. wtf??? any ideas why this happens. my ZC never had these probs.

when you mean "normal operating temp" where is the needle? i have a 90 DX and the needle NEVER gets to the middle, even when its 110 outside. when its cold outside(30-60) it takes like 3 mins of driving to get the needle to start to move.

when i say normal operating temperature, i mean right below the exact middle of the gauge. just barely covering the base of the thermometer (?) logo in the middle. for the lack of better terms...

ah, dont worry about it, hondas run very cool compared to other cars. youll probably never get to the middle of the gauge unless theres a problem(thermostat problem, low coolant, water pump problem, etc)
