SPI micrometers, anyone heard of them or used them?Essential engine building tools
This question is two-part.
First off, has anyone used or heard of "SPI?" Are they fairly quality? I am looking to pick up a set of 0-4" digital micrometers and my local machine supply company carries a brand called SPI that is very resonable priced and seemed to be of excellent quality.
I can't find any links to their stuff really, so I think I will scan in a pic out of their catalog later this evening.
Second question....
What are the essentials for building honda engines?
0-4" outside mic
telescoping bore gage set? or do I need a hole mic?
If someone could list out the essentials that would be great.

spi is decent .....there beter then the Fowler brand and way better then the harbor frieght stuff. I have an spi 3-4 mic and i like it but mitutoyo is usually a better deal (there both Japanese made, i think)
personally dont like digitals that much. to easy for calibration to get messed up, also just make sure yours comes with a piece of round metal to make sure he calib. is right
