Default Anybody else have poor radio signal in there 5th gen??

ive posted in the audio forum, and nobody will help

ive got a 96 ex that has a pioneer 3300 in it... and theres lots of stations that are 50 miles or so from me that BARELY come in..but about 3-5 miles from town, they come in perfect..so im just a little bit out of range.

anybody else have this problem? is it because the 96's dont have an external antenna or what? would a signal amplifier/booster help much? if so, what kind?

and i understand i cant pick up stations 300 miles away, i just wanna be able to pick up the ones thats just barely there now.

thanks in advance

The reception in fringe areas absolutely inhales thru tubular objects, but then again I've the Rear Window Printed Antenna Experiment version on my '97 SE. Fortunately, future Honda owners were spared this indignity by reverting to other forms of RF signal capture in later years.
Good idea, but they should have added an RF booster in the antenna lead

RF (Radio Frequency) signal amplifier; yep, that's an example YES. Just make sure that the amplifier you're looking at has power and ground requirements. If it's no more than a box where your antenna lead plugs in - steer clear.

Your confusion was not due to any difficiency on your part (I hope). It was an attempt to call Honda's effort to incorporate the antenna in the rear glass as a real bone-head idea, and we're fortunate they saw the light

I'm about to publish a paper where I postulate the theory that the Earth Sucks. I've determined this by the use of astute observations (a BIG government grant) and imperical thinking that it just has to; since we're surrounded by a perfect vacuum in space. I can feel a Nobel Prize in the wings!!

For the Amplifier, I feel a Ri-didio Shack moment coming on. (stranger things have happened)

If you've got one of those crappy (sorry Mr Moderator) "CHEAP" pillar/roof mounted telescoping antenna's, look no furthur. They corrode internally and the last (wire) portion of the antenna becomes useless.
A trunk mounted power antenna would look quite nice on that car
