I just got a Wings West kit for my CRX. I am doing all the prep work myself. (Priming and sanding.) Should I bother painting the mesh grill on the front and back of my kit? Do most people paint these? I might just leave it alone, but I am not sure if it may rust. I wouldn't mind painting it black, but then the paint may start to chip and look like **** in a few months.

Do any of you guys have some first hand experience?

 

when i got my wingswest avenger kit for my civic, before putting it on, i sprayed some rustproof clear coat on it.

 

Leave them alone

i got a big mouth bumper and painted the grill flat black.........it is chipping a little be already but not noticeable to anyone but me

 

i have the ww rs kit on my 90 civic hatch, i like the way it looks not paintedif i were you id just take the other guys advise and use the clearcoat
although i have had my kit for a little over a year and still no rust

 

just a dumb question btw, what color is the kit before you paint it, black?
