My antenna won't retract just will not go down at all. Any suggestions?

What sort of noise is it making? a sound like a ratchet? or you can hear the clutch hit 3 or 4 times? You might need a replacement mast. I'm working up an antenna replacement webpage for my home website. Have a few more pics to add to it this weekend it might be ready.

 

Or You can do this...

Just open your trunk, pull back the carpet, unplug the wire harness from the atenna motor and wa la, no more motor noise. Your antenna will still work, it just wont not go up or down.

 

Or install the back glass out of a '96/'97 5th Gen and enjoy unfettered background hiss as you drive out of the 3 mile radius from your favorite radio station.

i had the same problem i just pushed it down, i dont listen to the raido anyway, and the damn thing started working
