What kind of metal is that? The beads almost look stainless, but the metal looks like cold rold mild.

they always teach heli arc with stainless filler rod on mild steel in classes

 

Never did that at mine, nor do they in the hobart school's.

 

no, its none of that, its just mild steel. it looks bronze or stainless becasue of the lighting in the photo. thanks for the comments.
