Parts Availability after production is over?
My mom has been wanting a sports car/convertible for a while now and we're considering the MX5 and S2000. We test drove both, both seemed like very very fun cars... the S2000 is obviously the car with the better suspension, engine, gearbox... of course that comes with a price but I think my mom is willing to pay. She's just worried that after the S2000 production ends in what, 2 or 3 years, that there will be no parts left and any repairs and upkeep will end up being super expensive.
Can anyone offer any insight ? I dont know if the S2000 shares many parts with other Hondas, I can't imagine that it would.

the manufacturer is required to keep on producing replacement parts at full production for about 10 years i believe.....then another 5 years or so at partial production.... before they stop producing parts..... after that period then it becomes all aftermarket parts or fabricated parts from a local performance shop.....
i'm not exactly sure on the exact number of years.. but you should be fine.. no worries... unless you plan on keeping the car forever.
