Difference between '98 spec and '00 itr JDM tranny?
ok. i know the '98 spec is known for more performance. but is there a differance in transmissions? difference in FD maybe? let me know thanks.
it's the final drive....I lost the website w/ gear ratios though
both are good though, the 98 is just a lil tighter.

Actually I might be wrong about that...

im picking a brand new JDM ITR tranny for $1750. is that price about right? know of anyplaces i can get it for less?
That's a lot of money. I think way too much. Check the classifieds here. I believe that GZR4DR was selling a near new one for like 1300.
ya.. im talking to him, but im not sure i want a used one. problems might arise. dunno, i've had bad experiences with private sellers. i'd have to physically see the unit to be sure.

A new 98 Spec JDM ITR tranny will run you more. The key here is NEW. The difference in the 98 Spec is that it runs the 4.785 FD vs the US Spec 4.40. Also, the JDM 98 spec runs the GSR 4th and 5th gear, too. If you can find a used ITR tranny (expect to pay anywhere from 13xx-15xx) you can always install the JDM FD. You can pick those up for mid $400 range. Do the math and most of the time you are better off going with the new one. I hope this is coherent...it's getting late here. Thanks.
