Default rate my collector.

Just finished it. 1 3\4" mild steel tubeing 2.6mm thick wall. 1.8mm filler rod.

the collector was welded with 2.4mm red tungsten and the cup and lense shown in the picture. w pure argon.

used 70A to weld the collector it self 80A in the tigth spots. and 110A when welding collector to the flange.

this is my second collector ever made. let me know what you think.

Looks cool. Did you cut it using a band saw or chop saw?

no bandsaw. just an angel grinder and a whole lot of cutting and grinding. a lot of work....

made a jig if you can call it that out of 2" exhaust pipe wich slides over the 1 3\4" tube so I could mark of and get the same shape on all 4 tubes.

for cleaning i just grind of the paint that's on the pipes when i buy them and wash with aceton. is there something else i should do?

I can't compare my cea to anything since i've never used any other machine, but my experience so far is just positive. has some nice features, i've only just started welding so I can't realy use all it's functions yet, but i'm getting there..... i hope

the flange is not 3\4". it's a t25 flange so the picture migth fool you a little.

maybe too much filler on the pipe to pipe collector part. Other than that, nice work.

do you just weld the innside? do you have to have a purge chamber then if it's goning to look any good on the outside?

I've got a fullrace manifold and it's welded on the inside but it looks to be welded on the outside as well.

thanks for all the comments btw.
