Default Review this set up

Alright
For the last couple months, i have been looking into doing a b20b swap, but because of so many people around me doing it, and none of them having the performance i expected, i decided to go with b16.
Right now i am looking at the LSD b16a obd0 kit from passwordjdm.com
I have a 1989 civic hatch SI that it will be dropped in to.
right now in my garage i already have quite a few b-series parts including
ITR Header
ITR Pistons
Skunk 2 manifold
greddy complete exhaust
skunk 2 cams
edelbrock adjustable cam gear
edelbrock victor-x intake
Bride 2 seats

those are all the parts i have in my garage right now. Just wondering if going with a b16a would be smart. I am in highschool, young, but i do know what I am doing, so please do not bring my age into this. I am currently working 3 jobs so i can afford all of my stuff for my car.

I may eventually go turbo, but am still debating on the whole issue.
What do you guys think? Anything i should know before i do anything with a motor and what not? Right now i have a stock b18 in my car, but it has 195k miles on it.

Goal: 240WHP on N/A daily driver civic

If you already have a B18 in the car I would assume it is LS. In this case use the parts you currently have on that motor in your car and put a VTEC head on it. You can get a tranny such as B16, GSR. By doing the LS/VTEC you maybe able to save yourself some money. I feel that is probably the most cost efficient thing to do and you can make more power from the LS/VTEC than the B16.

I'm sure that are others on here that will agree that the LS/VTEC might be the best thing for you to do.

Amen to that.

I'm sure a little searching will find you alot of info on the LS/VTEC but if you can't do it or won't giving up those .2 liters is a step down. at very least a vtec B tranny will be a nice gain.

well problem is, the b18 has 195k on it and has had a LOT of problems with it holding oil, etc. There is no place around here that will rebuild it for a decent price. For the price people want to rebuild it around here, i can get a complete b16 swap.

Wow you want 240whp daily driven..?

You're gonnna have to build the motor anyway..So why not rebuild the motor you have now and then put on a vtec head..

That has to be the absolute WORSE setup I've ever seen. I mean, c'mon, Type R internals? What the expletive are you thinking man???? I am so sick of you stupid kids slapping parts together and calling yourself mechanics. If I took my 200 dollar set of wrenches and shoved them all up your ***, you still wouldnt be a mechanic. ITR???? what the hell man?? Why not just used ford racing pistons while you;re at it??? If I met you in person, I wouild take your motor from you, install it in my car, and run you over with it. Good day, dumbass.

I am probably going with toda cams, and not sure what else yet. still trying to figure out if i want b20z or ls/vtec

Ignore JDmahmed, he's been going around being a complete *** hole to people on this forum. All five of his posts are inflamatory.

240WHP if you're going N/A is going to be a hard goal to reach and still maintain streetability. I'm sure it can be done with the right combination of parts. An LS/VTEC would be a great start, I say take out your LS and clean it up yourself, it's never too late to learn! Engine assembly isn't too bad and if you need any help along the way, don't be afraid to ask. If you don't want to tackle that job, then I'm sure a B16 full swap and some bolt ons will be satisfactory, but I maintain that a 240WHP N/A build is slightly out of reach for daily drivers, correct me if I'm wrong.
